It's a lesson I needed to learn and one that's often overshadowed by the encouragement to keep trying. Again, if you have a dream, then I think it's admirable to keep at it, but pre-calculus was not my dream.

You need to make sure that you know all of your basic math well and build on top of it. If you do your homework regularly and spend more time working on your weaknesses.

My friend who skipped pre-cal did fine in calculus. In fact when I did pre-cal last semester my teacher kept mentioning how a lot of the stuff isn't really relevant to calculus (except maybe some of the trig skills you learn). If you can get away with skipping it I would, I wanted to but my JC is waaaaay uptight on pre-reqs.
